The Sway

the sway

As I’ve said in a previous post, The Sway is a band that has the up most potential in making their way into many many headphones someday and I’m stoked to have known about them before.

The Sway is a pop/rock ensemble that was “built on old world rock n’ roll ethics with a modern sophistication (http://www.myspace.com/theswayisaband).”  In our featured interview with The Sway, the two lead vocalists and guitarists (Adam Sobolew and Tim Akers) performed an acoustic song entitled, “It’s True” which they later recorded with Sobolew’s older brother/recording engineer in San Francisco.

The finished product can be heard on the band’s myspace page, along with videos involving their recording process and some good times. Enjoy.

An Interview with The Sway

An Interview with The Sway

To describe the collision course of the two worlds that make up The Sway, some would call it luck or destiny or perfect timing. Personally, I’ll just call it a fortunate happening. Long story short, hailing from Nashville, TN comes Tim Akers (vocalist/guitarist), a talented and warm-hearted soul that joins the likes of Adam Sobolew (vocalist/guitarist), an avid and committed musician from Fresno, CA, to create pop music at its most genuine and catchiest. Although The Sway consists of a full band, the two frontmen give LGM an intimate acoustic performance taken place at an old, vintage car shop on a summer night in Fresno, CA. Their performance left us at LGM with the upmost confidence that The Sway will easily find their way into many many headphones one iPod at a time…

Justin Timberlake Hit’s a Whole In One

Justin Timberlake’s love for golf is sort of brand new “I started playing golf about 5 or 6 years ago while I was on tour, [after playing in] indoor arenas,” he told PGATour.com in an interview. “I started getting cabin fever. My stage manager and my crew got me out on the golf course. [After] the first round, I was instantly hooked.”

Now the singer, songwriter, producer and actor is going green on the green by Justin with his new golf course in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. The course opens this weekend, and Timberlake flushed $16 million making it the “greenest” golfing destination in the US.

Renamed Mirimichi Golf Course, the course was originally called Woodstock Hills — and was the first place Timberlake learned to hit a golf ball. Timberlake’s newest venture is the first project in the US to receive the Audubon International’s Classic Sanctuary certification. “So we thought it was such a landmark for the community, we’d scoop it and save it. And we did.”

“After we had the golf course, we said why don’t we refurbish it and make it even nicer for the community. Then I asked questions about what we could possibly do, and we found out we could actually make it a ‘green course,’” Timberlake said.

The course will feature irrigation systems that will maximize the use of rainwater, native landscaping and electric golf carts powered by solar panels.

“So when it’s finished this summer it will be a Platinum LEED certified green course. The first in the United States of America, so that’s pretty exciting that you could take all that land and make it eco-friendly.”
