Interview with Cookie Tanney (Founder of Pretty Hurt)

Interview with Cookie Tanney (Founder of Pretty Hurt)

Hurt so Good

Designer crutches, glamorous slings and light up canes, who would have thought? Cookie Tanney, as a matter of fact. Founder and Creator of Pretty Hurt, Tanney has made a name for herself in the extreme sports scene and is making headway all across America.

Tanney, a Huntington Beach native, moved to Fresno a few years ago and dabbled in a little bit of this and a little bit of that. She eventually grew restless and began to pursue a different type of avenue all together, crutches.

The concept came when a close friend, Ernie, broke his leg. Being the fashion forward gal she is, Tanney used her fearless senses to create a custom pair of crutches for him.

To her surprise, the crutches were a smashing hit and pretty soon Pretty Hurt was born.

Marking her one year anniversary of Pretty Hurt, Tanney has succeeded in being a part of the surfing US Open, touring with the Action Sport tour and signing on a team of riders (Adam Denny, Jeff Bohuslavsky and Patrick Ivison) to sport the Pretty Hurt name.

Doing big things and keeping the creative vibes going is what Cookie is known for best. Her spirit and passion has allowed her to achieve greatness.

If she has done all this in one year, we here at Lean Green Machine can’t wait to see what happens next with Pretty Hurt; keeping it PRETTY and makin’ it HURT so good!!

What the Fringe?

What the Fringe?

Fringe is fun and flirty. Feeling the leather swoosh and sway with you makes any girl feel sexy. This stylish obsession has been seen with all kinds of fabrics and flavors.

The best of the fringe can be seen on handbags, shoes, cuffs, and earrings. Leather and feather are my fav but who knows you may be more of beading type of gal.

Sometimes clothing can have an added touch of pizzazz with fringe, but be careful you don’t want to look too overboard. Word to the wise: if you think it’s too much fringe, it probably is.

Don’t go on a fringe frenzy. Bring out the inner Pocahontas in you, but let’s keep it in moderation.

Bright is Bangin’

Bright is Bangin’

The pastels and neutrals are a thing of the past and bolds are flashier than ever. Whether you are just adding a hint of neon or walk down the street looking like a rainbow just puked on you, either way you rock it, the 80’s are back.

Think of yourself as fashion forward, and just think backwards: there are no limits this summer. Those hideous hues that some once swore off are bigger and better than ever.

The fashion fetish for summer is go big or go home. Just think of a light show at Coachella for inspiration.

But please keep in mind to pass on the 80’s hair style, this summer fashion may be wild but some things we should still leave in the past.
