Justin Timberlake Hit’s a Whole In One

Justin Timberlake Hit’s a Whole In One

Justin Timberlake’s love for golf is sort of brand new “I started playing golf about 5 or 6 years ago while I was on tour, [after playing in] indoor arenas,” he told PGATour.com in an interview. “I started getting cabin fever. My stage manager and my crew got me out on the golf course. [After] the first round, I was instantly hooked.”

Now the singer, songwriter, producer and actor is going green on the green by Justin with his new golf course in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. The course opens this weekend, and Timberlake flushed $16 million making it the “greenest” golfing destination in the US.

Renamed Mirimichi Golf Course, the course was originally called Woodstock Hills — and was the first place Timberlake learned to hit a golf ball. Timberlake’s newest venture is the first project in the US to receive the Audubon International’s Classic Sanctuary certification. “So we thought it was such a landmark for the community, we’d scoop it and save it. And we did.”

“After we had the golf course, we said why don’t we refurbish it and make it even nicer for the community. Then I asked questions about what we could possibly do, and we found out we could actually make it a ‘green course,’” Timberlake said.

The course will feature irrigation systems that will maximize the use of rainwater, native landscaping and electric golf carts powered by solar panels.

“So when it’s finished this summer it will be a Platinum LEED certified green course. The first in the United States of America, so that’s pretty exciting that you could take all that land and make it eco-friendly.”

TRON: Legacy

TRON: Legacy

Straight from Comic-Con, fans got a taste of the new movie Tron: Legacy which I might add was originally titled Tron 2, but that is neither here nor there.

To be honest I’ve never seen the original Tron, but I gotta say this version definitely has potential.

Be a part of “The Blinkumentary”

Be a part of “The Blinkumentary”

blink-182

As if getting to see Blink-182 in their highly discussed reunion tour wasn’t enough, now the fans can get a chance to be a part of Blink history in the new documentary project titled The Blinkumentary. It has been confirmed that a new production company, HND$M RND$M (Handsome Randsome), manned mostly by two ingenious men, Haven Lamoureux and Matt Edwards, are taking the reigns of the project.

So the word on the web is that Lamoureux and Edwards will be allowing the fans who have video footage of Blink-182 performing during their reunion tour to send their video’s to them. From the performance footage received, the two will decide which footage they will use in the documentary.

If you’re planning on attending one of the 52 dates of their North American tour, you might want to have a camera on hand…who knows, you might be a part of Blink’s final legacy.

Open Happiness

Open Happiness

open-happiness-music-video

The “ringleader” to guide these young and upcoming artists in this amazing yet random collaboration is none other than the eccentric Cee-Lo Green (Gnarls Barkley).  Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco steals the charm, though, when he shines in the chorus with ease and confidence proving that he can definitely keep up with the big boys.  Plus, it doesn’t hurt that Fall Out Boy’s lead man Patrick Stump is backing him up on vocals.  But who can forget Gym Class Heros’ Travis McCoy? This animated individual shares his charisma as he spits some lyrical  rhymes giving the song it’s playful spice.  At the song’s breakdown, beauty and poise is presented by the lovely Janelle Monae, bringing the song to its full circle of it’s aiming theme of love, care, and happiness.  Not gonna lie, no idea who Janae Monae is, but she’s unique, she’s cute, and her voice is of an angel’s, giving “Open Happiness” it’s warm love; a love from a woman, shall we say.

coca-cola-happiness-factory

Open Happiness” is the newest single promoting another installment of Coca-Cola’s Happiness Factory.  What is the Happiness Factory? Well… “Inside every coke machine is the Happiness Factory- the assembly line of elation responsible for the joy found in every bottle (hf3.coca-cola.com/)…”

… OR in simpler terms, the Happiness Factory refers to the inventive c.g.i animated commercials for Coca Cola.

“Open Happiness” is a song to promote good being across the world.  It is guaranteed to put a smile on your face, brighten your day, and show that there’s some good in this world.  Check out the music video below!

Dark Night of the Soul — Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse and David Lynch with Visuals

Dark Night of the Soul — Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse and David Lynch with Visuals

Danger Mouse, best known probably for being half of Gnarls Barkley and the chart topper, “Crazy,” but Danger Mouse has been around for a few years prior to that ensemble including an album with MF Doom and Gnarl Barkley’s first release (which blows the second release to pieces, if you haven’t heard it, you have to check it out).  This knew compilation from Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse is amazing, and surprising.  The album was due to be released with a book of visuals from David Lynch, but record execs pulled the plug on the album, so Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse sent each copy of the book with a CD-R of the album.  They are currently sold out of the book at dnots.com but they have the CD-R with a poster.  You can also grab a copy just about anywhere on the web and listen to the entire album at npr.org.  Worth checking out.

Prince of Persia Film Part of Summer 2010 Line-Up

Prince of Persia Film Part of Summer 2010 Line-Up

With many comic book characters landing in the theaters, it is only fair that we would soon see a handful of films taken from the video game world.

And it just so happens that the most recent, video game based, script that has gone into production is the 2003 Ubisoft hit, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

“Based on the video game, which follows an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world” – IMDB

The man chosen to play our films protagonist, Prince Dastan, is none other than Jake Gyllenhaal. And his sexy princess companion, Princess Tamina, will be played by Gemma Arterton (See: 007 Quantum of Solace).

On the other side of the fence we will see Ben Kingsley assume the role of the ruthless nobleman, Nizam.

The film, which is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Walt Disney Pictures, is set to hit theaters in the US on May 28, 2010.

Move over Deadpool hello Green Lantern

Recently Warner Bros have been in a debate for who will play DC’s The Green Lantern. Their choices were Bradley Cooper, Justin Timberlake, and Ryan Reynolds. (Sidenote: I swear a couple months ago Ryan Gosling was up for with role, huh) Well Warner Bros finally made their decisions… Ryan Reynolds. Crazy, right? so whats to become of the Deadpool spin-off.  I guess time will only tell.  Filming for The Green Lantern is scheduled to start January in Sydney.
