The SixtyOne is a website that opens up a gateway for listeners to hear new and exciting music, but unlike the many websites that provide this conveniece for you, SixtyOne gives listeners a voice. It is here that the people rate and review what artists personally upload, and depending on its popularity, viewers get to see what the masses are mostly listening to.
On the SixtyOne’s mission statement, it states: “It’s a quick way to find new music for your iPod powered by pure excitement as opposed to some contrived marketing budget.”
At SixtyOne, YOU, the listener, are the critic, because in the end, it’s the people that matter. At SixtyOne, artists aren’t shown criticisms from suits and ties, rather from youth and headphones.
A day after his performance at the BET Awards, Jay-Z has released his music video for the track, “Death of Autotune“. The song is pretty much self-explanatory about how the rap/hip-hop world is losing its edge by allowing technology to give music more fluff and a less raw vibe. I must say it is humbling for someone who has accomplished so much already to come out and try and keep the talent based on the individual…not the technology of the latest software.
And keep a lookout for the NBA’s League MVP, Lebron James, in the video as well…don’t expect any MVP moves though.
Hova is planning to put out his next album, Blueprint 3, in stores on September 11, 2009.
RX Bandits have always been a complex and intricate band that have never settled for normalcy. Their musical structures are consisted of careful patterns that literally sway you in each and every direction (and I say literally because their concerts just make you dance). Having a solid fan base and a respected name in the indie rock scene, RX Bandits continue making music no band has really matched up to this day.

WithTransformers 2: Revenge of the Fallenabout to hit theaters in about two days, we have all turned off our thirst for comic relief and have focused on the essential need for bad ass explosions, sleek cars, and non-stop action…oh and the heart-stopping Megan Fox running in slow motion.
Having said that, the boys over at Paramount Vantage must have realized that it would most likely be pointless to put out any film around the Transformer sequel’s opening. That logic might pay off for them with their August 14th release of “The Goods: Live Hard. Sell Hard.”, with the ever so popular Jeremy Piven playing the lead role as a fast talking/whitty salesman name Don Ready. Joining Piven is a proven supporting cast that has produced plenty of laughter throughout more recent years.
The plot goes like this: Don Ready (Piven), who is a widely known used car liquidator, is hired by a dwindling auto dealership in hopes that he can turn their Fourth of July car sale into a profitable event, thus saving the dealership…it seems kinda cliche I know, but judging from the trailer this movie has a huge chance to land itself on the summer movie hit’s list and not on the misses list like the current comedy Land of the Lost. It won’t be the best comedy of the summer (that goes to The Hangover of course), but it will definitely be remembered.
The anticipation for the opening of Transformers 2 is killing us, so we needed to get our fix somehow. Check out the new music video for the film by Linkin Park
I’ll get straight to the point, M. Night Shyamalan wants to make Unbreakable 2…you remember the first Unbreakable right? David Dunn (Bruce Willis) a security guard escapes a horrific train crash unharmed. only to have Elijah Price aka Mr. Glass (Samuel L. Jackson) contact him about a crazy theory he has. One that states the two individuals”seem to be linked by a curve, but sitting on opposite ends”, meaning Willis has superhero like strength and Jackson doesn’t, ergo he is fragile. Remember? Well that being said, at a recent press event Shyamalan would love to make Unbreakable 2, however he is lacking the key ingredients….Willis, Jackson, and a script. According to Shyamalan, âI donât know where all the parties are in the world. Sam [Jackson] is like âMr. Comic Bookâ now. And Bruce, I donât know what heâs up to. I donât know where Disneyâs at in their head and what kind of movies theyâre up for making. But yeah, I love that movie.â (MTV News). And as far as the script goes Shyamalan hasn’t written it yet, which is understandable considering he is midway into filming Airbender (based on the cartoon). Only time will tell what will become of Dunn and Price, but all I can say is I’d love to see another Unbreakable, although Lady in the Water and The Happening were questionable films Shyamalan is bound for a good movie…right?
