So there’s been a whole hoo-ra on ABC, announcing the 2009 Academy Awards, but who cares. The whole thing is over rated. There are no surprises, no shocking moments and the actors/actresses aren’t lavished in spirits. So the Academy’s scheme to gain more viewers is to do away with much of the red carpet coverage that reveals the outfits of the rich and famous and save the revealing for the headlining show. Will it work…um…my sources say no. My suggestion would be bring the awards to the common movie goer, how ’bout a couple movies that were blockbusters being nominated. If they want mainstream America, then maybe portray what mainstream America is watching…but then the academy would lose the elites-ness that it cherishes oh so much. Anyway, my pick is Slum Dog all the way–such a stupid premise, but what a great movie. Check it out Sunday Night, time? Who cares…
